Like other marsupials, baby wombats (called Joeys) are carried in a tummy pouch while they grow. The wombat’s pouch is positioned backwards, which allows the mother to dig without getting dirt in her pouch. Another fun fact about wombats is that they excrete cube shaped poop, which apparently stops the poo from rolling off their marked territory of rocks or trees.
